July 4th Parade
Arroyo Seco, NM

Just a few miles north of Taos is the village of Arroyo Seco. Though small in size, this community of locals, business owners and artists is rich in spirit, holding numerous town events throughout the year.

One of the favorites among Northern New Mexicans and visitors alike is the annual 4th of July Parade. Each year, the entire village is closed off, and this part of the world sees its only bumper-to-bumper traffic, as people come from miles around to enjoy the event.

Adults, children, dogs, horses and other occasional species turn out, some in costume. Just about everyone in town participates, and fun is had by all.
